J. W. Mashburn, a life-long resident of Oklahoma City and a leader in the development of South Oklahoma City, has owned and operated J. W. Mashburn Homes since 1960.
Originally planning to become a coach, JW began selling real estate during the weekends following college while he trained to join the Olympic trials. His training led him to become a national and world record holder in track events and a member of the United States Olympic Team in 1952 and 1956, winning a Gold Medal in the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Australia. But upon tearing his Achilles tendon, he was forced to quit his athletic pursuits and began selling real estate full time. Eventually, JW and a partner opened their own real estate company and began building homes.
Since then, JW has built more than 2,000 single-family homes with most of these homes built in one of the 15 subdivisions in Oklahoma and Cleveland counties by J. W. Mashburn Development, Inc. He was recently honored on the Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation Wall of Fame as well as the Oklahoma Athletic Hall of Fame. Because community involvement is so important to him, JW also serves tirelessly with local organizations including the MAPS for Kids Trust and the Oklahoma State Fair Board.
JW received a bachelor’s degree in education from Oklahoma State University. He and his wife, Connie, have two children and eight grandchildren and reside in southwest Oklahoma City.

Jesse Mashburn, vice president of JW Mashburn Homes, grew up in the home building industry - roofing, framing and helping his dad build homes. But despite his upbringing, Jesse never thought he would join the family business.
After completing college, Jesse realized his true calling - to follow in his father's footsteps.
Today, many years later, Jesse loves working with his dad building homes and dreams for families. As a partner in the company, Jesse has taken incredible measures to ensure his customers are satisfied and prides himself in the quality of construction and development of the homes they build.
Jesse received a degree in business from Oklahoma State University and a degree in construction management from the University of Central Oklahoma. Jesse is a lifetime board member of the Central Oklahoma Home Builders Association and the Southwest Home Builders Association.
He is also a member of the National Association of Home Builders, and is the chairman of the Residential Building Code Commission for Oklahoma City.
As sales manager for Mashburn Homes, Tony McGrew appreciates how overwhelming the home building process can be for a buyer. That’s why he ensures each homebuyer is personally guided through the loan, contract, construction and closing process. Prior to joining Mashburn Homes in 1998, Tony served as a licensed realtor with Keller Williams Realty.
Tony is a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Oklahoma City Board of Realtors. He and his wife, Brenda, have three daughters and six granddaughters and reside in southwest Oklahoma City.
A graduate of Moore High School, Norman began his career in 1984 as a carpenter in residential housing construction, later becoming a construction superintendent for Mashburn homes, overseeing government funded housing projects and completing more than 250 homes. In 1995, Norman joined forces with various other Oklahoma City builders and built custom and speculative homes in Moore and Southwest Oklahoma City for several years. Currently, Norman is a partner with JW Mashburn and is building homes in the Deer Brook Addition located at NW 150th & Rockwell in Oklahoma City.
